Venetia Bigley

Venetia Bigley is a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Haematology and recent recipient of a Wellcome Trust Intermediate Fellowship.  As a new Principal Investigator in the Lab she is leading studies of DC haematopoiesis.  Her previous work identified DC deficiency in two conditions: GATA-2 mutation and IRF8 mutation (in collaboration with Sophie Hambleton) and subsequently helped to define a new field of DC immunodeficiency.  Venetia joined the group in 2008 with an MRC Clinical Research Training Fellowship and was subsequently appointed to a Clinical Lectureship funded by the George Walker Trust and Bright Red in 2008.  She also received a New investigator Award from the British Society of Haematology.
