Newcastle Adult Histiocytosis Clinic

If you are over 18 years of age and have a histocytic disorder including Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis,  Erdheim Chester Disease, Rosai Dorfman Disease or Juvenile Xanthogranuloma, you may request that your GP or hospital specialist refers you to the Newcastle Adult Histiocytosis Clinic for specialist advice.  We have a multidisciplinary clinic including haematologists (Professor Collin and Dr Bigley), dermatologist (Dr Haniffa) and paediatricians (Dr Windebank and Dr Bomken) with experience in managing histiocytic disorders.  We also use dedicated endocrinology,  orthopaedic and neurological specialists for advice.

The clinic runs every months on Monday afternoon either at Dermatology Outpatients in the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle NE1 4LP or at the Northern Centre for Cancer Care at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle.  We can provide the latest diagnostic and monitoring tests, treatment recommendations and advice on well being and long term care.  We also offer access to clinical research and a global network of experts.

If you are interested in the Newcastle Adult Histiocytosis Clinic please call Professor Collin's secretary Lucy Manning on 0191 213 8479 or email lucy.manning@nuth.nhs.uk.  We will help you to seek a referral or discuss your case in confidence with your local doctors.  Even if you do not attend the clinic we are very happy to provide advice to you and your GP or hospital specialist.
